I have passion for my Business and I love what I do: Olanrewaju Adeyemi.

Moin-moin is a business done by ladies or mostly old women. A guy was seen at felele area in Ibadan, selling Moin-moin to passers- by. Olanrewaju Adeyemi (“Delicious” or “Moinmoin”), is the  CEO of "Oleliscious  CafĂ© International" at Felele in Ibadan  and he has been into business for two years.  Lanre is into “moinmoin” business which could be eaten anytime of the day. One could decide to take the “moinmoin” with Pap, Bread, Oat, Custard or even Garri.  People come around from far and near to patronize him. He has different ways of garnishing the “moinmoin” . The food comes in different forms like “E l’eyin”- with Egg    “E l’eja “- with fish   “El’ede”- with crayfish  and he also has the one he garnishes with Corned beef but he doesn’t prepare that everyday.  When asked how he ventured into the business he said the following:

How did you venture into the business?  It was due to the fact that there was no job opportunity around. I just talked to myself that since there was no guy doing “Moin-moin Business” in Ibadan here. That was how I ventured into it and from that time and I have been enjoying it.

What are the major challenges you face?  The most challenging aspect of the business is the financial aspect.” I need to enlarge this business”, He added that he has been writing to companies for financial assistance but none is yet to give him a green-light.

How well do you sell in this area? This place is a strategic place and business is encouraging. But I sell more at shoprite and cocoamall Dugbe. Bankers too come and patronize me from around challenge here. I still need financial assistance.

How much did you use to start the business? I started the business with just N3,000. It was a pastor of mine that gave me N 3,000 to buy coal-pot and a pot. I started with 2 kongos of beans  and now I work with 5 Kongos and on Saturday I prepare 7 Kongos.

How was the business when you started, how did you feel selling “moinmoin” to customers?
When I started the business, some people laughed at me while some appreciated me. I was very shy, but now I have scaled through. Some friends even left me because I was selling “moin-moin”. As I was growing in the business, I surmounted courage and God gave me the grace and boldness .I have passion for it, I am doing what I love and I am having fun.

So, is the business profitable?
Very very profitable. It is very profitable, especially when you have good patronage.

What food will you suggest that will best match moinmoin?
One can eat “moin-moin” with solid pap (eko), Pap, Custard, Bread, or even garri. Some people prefer garri.

How do you garnish your product?
I have different ways of garnishing the “moinmoin” . The food comes in different forms like  Ordinary "moin-moin", “E l’eyin”- with Egg, “E l’eja “- with fish, “El’ede”- with crayfish  and I also have the one I garnish with Corned beef

In the next five years, what is your plan for this business of yours?
I hope to have branches all over the world and I hope to be a household name.

What advice do you have for young guys out there?
I just want to encourage them not to be stereotyped about the fact that they want to have a white collar job. “You can be on your own”. Some people have even graduated for over five years now and they are sitting at home. They have not even thought of what to do. “Start a business of your own. With little amount you can start”
